How to Detox in the New Year

new-year-detox-san-diego

The holiday crush is over, and it’s time to get back to real life. And by real life, we mean the one where every meal does not consist of heavily buttered rolls, three glasses of wine, and two giant slices of Aunt Martha’s pumpkin pie. Not that we were complaining – just that it’s time to resume the healthy habits we let slip during the holidays.

If you’re like most of us in San Diego, your hopes and dreams for the New Year include at least one positive lifestyle change in the area of fitness or diet.  Perhaps you’re hoping to eat healthier or tone up in general. Or maybe you have a specific goal to run a marathon or lose X number of inches.

Regardless of what your particular health and fitness goals are, at Suddenly Slimmer in San Diego, we offer treatments that can give you a jumpstart by flushing out the toxins in your body.

Many of us forget that what’s happening on the inside of our bodies is directly reflected on the outside.  So…all those toxins from the alcohol and junk you consumed over the holidays? Besides dragging your energy down, they’re also creating excess buildup between your fatty cells and causing visible puffiness in your thighs, buttocks, waist and hips.

Yuck, we know. But there’s good news, too.

After a single detox treatment at Suddenly Slimmer in San Diego, you will see and feel a remarkable difference. You’ll notice inches lost; a reduction in stretch marks and scars; and tighter, smoother, softer skin. So whether your goal is weight loss, toning, sculpting, or just feeling better, you’ll love the results. And if you maintain the healthy eating and exercise habits you started up for the New Year, you’ll be astonished by how long they last.

Intrigued? Here are a couple of options for your New Year detox:

Mineral Detox Body Wraps

When you come in for a mineral detox body wrap, we’ll start by discussing your goals and answering any questions you have about the process. Then, we measure you from head to toe after which we will wrap you head to toe in bandages soaked in our exclusive mineral solution that has been created to draw the highest concentration of toxins out of your body. We specifically focus on the areas that concern YOU the most. For some of us it’s tummy, others butt and thighs or upper arms. We address all the areas that concern you.

For about a half-hour, while wrapped, you’ll get some light aerobic exercise on our Gazelle Glider. This will help the minerals do their job and move those toxins out of your body.  When we unwrap and re-measure you, you’ll be inches slimmer! And you’ll feel fresh, new, and ready to keep rocking those New Year’s resolutions.

Thermaslim

Thermaslim works a little differently than the wrap. It’s a fat loss treatment that uses infrared heat therapy to flush toxins from your body and increase your metabolism. It’s a great way to jumpstart a weight loss program, and it also relieves joint and muscle pain. In addition, it helps to tighten, tone, and reduce cellulite.

When you arrive for your Thermaslim treatment, we’ll start by measuring your fat percentage. Then, you’ll lie down on the table and we will massage two different creams into your skin to help your body detox and burn fat. We will then wrap you in the infrared blanket. The heat from the blanket will penetrate through your skin to the core of your body. Your heart rate will rise, and you’ll begin to sweat. That’s a good thing.

We have a saying around here: Sweat is your fat tissue crying.

As you sweat, you’ll burn 2500 to 3000 fat calories. The Thermaslim treatment rids your body of toxins and decreases your fat percentage (and we’ll measure again to prove it). After the hour is up, you’ll feel lighter and cleaner, and…well, happier. A better version of you.

Come get your detox on!

At Suddenly Slimmer in San Diego, we don’t call ourselves that for nothing. Come into our studio and see for yourself.

Results are motivating. Once you see those inches lost and all that firming and toning gained from our detox treatments, we’re pretty sure you’ll be even more committed to your New Year’s health and fitness resolutions.

It’s important to remember that healthy eating and regular exercise will help the results last longer.  The longer you can avoid re-toxifying yourself with junky foods and alcohol, the better you’ll feel and the better you’ll look.

Here’s to a brand new year and a brand new you!
